Downtown, San Diego, CA – San Diego’s original street festival, Street Scene is returning to its roots on September 2009. Street Scene began in Downtown San Diego 24 years ago and this year its back in East Village just adjacent to Petco Park with easy parking and trolley access. This year, Street Scene is an all-ages celebration that will take the event back to its purist form; today’s coolest sounds in an urban outdoor venue. The uber hip lineup includes only the hottest indie, rock and world bands along with the biggest acts in music history. Over the course of the two days, event goers can take in Beck, THE BLACK CROWES, The National, SPOON, JUSTICE, TV On The Radio, ATMOSPHERE, THE HIVES and over 40 acts on four stages. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall.  This fund raising event celebrates and supports the success of their youth and teen volunteers and this year’s mission is more expansive than ever. This one of a kind green event will practice what it preaches as it takes the evening’s theme and runs wild with it. Details of the evening’s festivities incorporates sustainable, green solutions. Celebrate the accomplishments of those who choose to positively impact the world around us when we present our National Leadership Awards.The highlight of the evening will be ECOuture, an eco-friendly fashion showcase featuring sustainable fashions, from clothiers that reduce energy and natural resource consumption, are sensitive to material composition and origins, and impose reduce/reuse/recycle within their creations. The Easter Bonnet Parade will provide information, entertainment, education, and food for both children and adults on Saturday, April, 2010.  Activities include a Hatmaking Workshop, a Hat Contest, a “Sidewalk Stroll” parade and an Easter egg hunt for children ages 2-12.  Inside enjoy a FREE stroll in the park, a variety of over 10 booths, a Story-Telling Stage and an Entertainment Stage featuring youth dance groups and a magician.
