| When the San Diego Padres opened their brand new Petco Park to local dignitaries, celebrities and sports figures, a full 24 hours before they opened their doors to the public, they called on McFarlane Promotions to make this historic night extra special. | |
Playing
off of the architectural elements of the stadium made lighting both challenging
and exciting. In keeping with the Padres trademark blue and to honor the
bay just south of the stadium made color choices within the primary venue
simple yet effective. |
|
| Custom bars with powerful lighting elements created stunning visual impact throughout the corridor, while effectively breaking up the immense space and offering attendees strategic areas to enjoy the evening’s entertainment. | |
The
smallest touches can sometimes make the biggest difference. Here, hundreds
of simple white votives were used to create a huge impact on the room. |
|
| Here is another example that centerpieces don’t have to be pave’d or luxurious to be effective. Here we used simple red containers with free falling red Asian flowers, three votives and green glass beads to showcase the contemporary lines of the furniture and space. | |
Keeping with the Asian inspired architecture, we created Asian gobos to project onto the outside of the space and washed the walls in a deep red. Set against the San Diego skyline, this created a very Tokyo feel to this contemporary space. |
|
| As construction began on the ballpark, one of San Diego’s most historically significant buildings, the Western Metal Supply Company Building was salvaged and incorporated into the stadiums design. As a way to honor the heritage of this area of the ballpark, the décor was rustic and traditional with leather seating, classic billiards tables and natural textiles. | |
Brown
suede linens and simple bunches of native wildflowers added to the rustic
elements of the historic building. |
|
| Oak barrels with wooden tops were used to create the bar areas within the Western Metal area of the event. Adding even more of a historic feel to this area. | |
